It"s hard to believe: in her mid-20s, Andrea Motis is already a jazz superstar inSpain and far beyond. In 2011, Quincy Jones became enthusiastic about the young lady on trumpet and vocals. Andrea´s mentor was bassist, tenor saxophonist and celebrated pedagogue Joan Chamorro, the head of the Catalan talent factory.
In spring 2021, the collaboration with the WDR Big Band Cologne took place. Under the direction of the experienced big band leader Mike Mossman, who arranged all the songs, the recordings began to which Andrea contributed most of the songs. The result is a wonderful, atmospheric, Latin-oriented album. Here Andrea Motis shows her great art as a singer and on the trumpet. Her enchanting singing allows comparisons with one of the greats: the legendary Astrud Gilberto.
